What you said. When you said it.
As AI systems remix, misquote, and misattribute content at scale, your words deserve a ground truth. Register an immutable cryptographic record of your quotes, texts, documents, and images so you can prove what you said, when you said it. We never store your content, only the fingerprint.
How it works
Hash your content
Paste text or upload a file. Your browser computes a SHA-256 fingerprint locally. The content itself never leaves your device.
Claim the hash
Submit the hash with your name, a title, and a timestamp. Once claimed, it is immutable. No one else can claim the same hash, and the record cannot be altered or deleted.
Share your proof
Get a permanent verification URL. Share it on Twitter, Mastodon, Reddit, or forums as evidence of when you made your claim.
Try it now
Type or paste anything below. Your browser computes the SHA-256 hash instantly β nothing is sent to any server.
Who uses it
Journalists and reporters
Hash a source's quote before publication. If the quote is later disputed or edited, the original hash is on record with a timestamp that predates any changes.
Researchers and academics
Timestamp a hypothesis, dataset, or draft before submitting to a journal. Establish that the idea existed before a competing paper appeared.
Writers and creators
Register your work before you share it publicly. If an AI model or another person reproduces it without attribution, the hash record shows the original came first.
Anyone with a public voice
Claim statements you make online before they can be misquoted, stripped of context, or fed into a model and returned as something you never said.
Legal and contract work
Register contract language, terms, or correspondence before it changes hands. The timestamp record can support a paper trail when disputes arise.
Developers
Use the API or webhooks to register claims programmatically as part of a publishing or archiving workflow. Embed provenance badges directly in your site.
What this is, and what it is not
Kernel of Truth establishes a timestamped record of a claim. It proves that a specific person asserted provenance of specific content at a specific time. Use it to proactively defend your speech and creations against AI misattribution, misquoting, and misinformation. It does not prove authorship, ownership, or that the content is original. Anyone can claim Abe Lincoln quotes. The value is in the record itself and what you can corroborate alongside it.
